Fashion Show

Last week, I attended my first meeting for a fashion show organised by Lazy Taka. I first came across this great opportunity a few weeks ago whilst on Facebook. Taking part in the fashion show will not only look good on my C.V, but also give me the experience I need for my ambition to becoming a knitwear designer. Therefore, I have decided to collaborate it with my next unit. The collection will be based on a tribal/far east Theme to compliment with the oriental themed venue, where the show will be held. The venue is a club situated down Deansgate locks (Manchester) called Sakura.

I will update you on confirmed dates nearer the time. Hope to see you there! x

Fight fuel poverty! get knitting!

I happen to come across a very interesting Macmillan campaign called Infi-knit whilst researching today. The campaign is about creating a petition to lower fuel costs so cancer sufferers can afford the heat. It is estimated that nearly 1 in 5 people living with cancer turn the heating off, even though they still feel cold. This petition will be represented by a knitted scarf and each supporter who joins will contribute to the scarf’s length. Although, I would have loved to take part knitting, you can still help by simply adding to the petition online. If you like to take part heres the link. its easy and fun!  http://www.infi-knit.org.uk/
